#263Tech: TelOne Introduces Prepaid Billing For Landlines

Fixed telephone services operator, TelOne has introduced a prepaid voice service for its fixed telephone in a move aimed at cutting on unpaid bills by its subscribers.

The recently awakened giant is owed millions of dollars in unpaid phone bills by its subscribers and this was threatening the viability of the company.

TelOne has been rising like a phoenix to reclaim its competitive advantage in Zimbabwe’s most lucrative sector through launching a series of modern services such as Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), VSAT, VoIP, and the recently launched Data Center.

To add flavor to their new style of operations, TelOne’s prepaid voice service now comes with more control and convenience for the subscribers. Land-line recharge vouchers are now available at every TelOne Client Service centers across Zimbabwe in $1, $2 $5, $10, $20 and $100 denominations.

To use TelOne prepaid voice vouchers, you can simply dial 216 and follow voice prompts:

Emirates
  • For Account Recharge Press 1 and follow voice prompts
  • For Balance Enquiry Press 2 and follow voice prompts
  • For Validity Period Press 3 and follow voice prompts

The Table below show Areas with Prepaid Billing  

As a result of network upgrades, landline numbers for the areas below have been modified with a prefix and a new area codes have been introduced. These areas now have access to prepaid billing; clients will be required to buy a prepaid calling voucher to make phone calls.
