Close to $8K fees stolen at Chisipite Senior School

Five Harare men stole close to $8K worth of school and examination fees at Chisipite Senior School.

This emerged yesterday after four of the five accused pesons appeared before Harare magistrate court, facing charges of  unlawful entry into a private premise and theft as defined in section 131 of the criminal law codification and reform act chapter 9:23.

The five, Zacharia Makambachaza (34), Leonlee Chakanetsa (32), Benjamin Musasa (28), Taurai Dzingai (46) and Laxmore Matatngira a(46) were dragged to court after they had stolen $77 50.00 which was secured  in the school safe. However the first accused person is yet to be located.

According to state papers, on the 2nd of October 2015, the informant, Robyn Bailey, who is employed at Chisipite Secondary School reported for duty at around 07:00 hours and discovered that the school’s  Chubb safe handle had been damaged.

It is further stated that Bailey further found out that the cash boxes and files were strewn on the floor and cash amounting to $7 750 which was secured in the safe had been stolen, leading the informant to report the case to the police.

The Criminal Investing Department, (CID) Highlands investigated the case, leading to the arrest of four of the accused persons while, the first accused is yet to be located.

However, Harare magistrate Muvhami adjourned  the case to 22 June 2016 for further trial.
