Mnangagwa Scoffs At Chamisa Letter Claims

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sensationally denied receiving letters calling for a national dialogue from MDC leader Nelson Chamisa, while further putting a dent to national dialoguing hopes.

In an interview with the weekly newspaper, Zimbabwe Independent, Mnangagwa rubbished, as false, claims by Chamisa that he had sent five letters to the president.

“I have never received any letter from Chamisa. I don’t want to see myself exchanging words with Chamisa. I don’t want to sink to that level. I leave all that to you,” Mnangagwa is quoted to have said.

Chamisa has continuously claimed that he has been sending letters to Mnangagwa’s office and has been ignored every time he has done so.

In his latest press conference on Tuesday, Chamisa claimed to have sent five letters to ED in an effort to woo him into a national dialogue that will address the economic challenges facing the country.

However, that seems to be a pipe dream as Mnangagwa further claimed that Chamisa needs to accept that he (Mnangagwa) is the legitimate president of Zimbabwe or else there will not be talks.

“I cannot talk to someone who says, I don’t recognise you because you are an illegitimate president, so then the talks will be illegitimate,” Mnangagwa said.
