PSL action resumes

Log leaders FC Platinum will make the trip to Bulawayo this weekend when they take on Bulawayo City at Barbourfields on Saturday.

By Elia Ntali

Host Bulawayo City will be hoping for a better outing this time around having lost the revers fixture by 1-0 at Mandava and they know that it won’t be an easy encounter as the Platinum miners will be looking to consolidate their position at the summit.
Across town How Mine will be targeting a double over Border Strikers at Luveve, the gold miners won 2-0 in Beitbridge and another victory is certain for the Kelvin Kaindu coached side.
Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC will host former champions Dynamos at Nyamhunga Stadium in one of the weekend’s pick of the crop.
The two teams played to a goal-less draw when they met at Rufaro Stadium a fortnight ago and pressure will be on Chidzambwa as his team has been inconsistent in last three home games and a loss against his former pay masters will put his job on the line.
Chapungu will make the long trip to the Eastern border town for a date with Mutare City Rovers and will try to get a full set of points after dismissing the hosts 2-0 in the reverse encounter at Ascot Stadium.

On Sunday a mouthwatering encounter awaits Luveve stadium when Chicken Inn host Harare City.

Having played a 1-all draw at Rufaro both teams will be looking for nothing short of victory, however, a draw is most likely.

After thumping Hwange 3-0 at Luveve Stadium, Tsholotsho will make the trip to the colliery hoping to carry from where they left off.

Tonderai Ndiraya will be hoping to continue his fairy tale at Ngezi Platinum with another impressing outing when he takes on David Mandigora’s Triangle at Gibbo Stadium.

Their last encounter at Baobab Stadium favoured  Ndiraya after he saw off the Chiredzi based side 3-1.

In a top of the table clash slated for Sunday third placed Caps United host second placed Highlanders at the National Sports Stadium.

Highlanders will begin life without hero in the last encounter Bruce Kangwa who now plies his trade in Tanzania while Caps will be without Leornard Tsipa and Stephen Makatuka through suspension.

Highlanders won the reverse match 1-0 courtesy of a Kangwa strike while for Caps United it will be time to restore their home record which has not been impressive for the past few weeks.
