21st February Movement Celebration Preps Gather Momentum

Zanu PF Secretary for Youths Affairs, Kudzanai Chipanga has hinted that preparations for the 2017 edition of the 21st February Movement celebrations set for Rhodes Preparatory School in Matebeleland South Province are at an advanced stage with members deployed into various preparatory committees.

Addressing journalists in Harare recently, Chipanga said preparations were progressing well with Youth League National Executive and Provincial Executives deployed to various preparatory committees.

“Mobilization of people and material resources is progressing well and we have a committee that will go to Matopos to assess the progress made to this date.

“On the 17th of February we will be having our National Fundraising Dinner at Rainbow Towers where we are inviting our traditional and new sponsors to come and support this event,” said Chipanga.

More than 10 000 delegates are expected to grace the annual event which is a celebration of President Robert Mugabe’s birthday.

Chipanga said each of the country’s 10 provinces has pledged to provide 1000 people with other guests coming from regional and international countries.

“Delegates from former liberation Movements and sister revolutionary parties like ANC of South Africa, FRELIMO from Mozambique, JMPLA of Angola, Patriotic Front of Zambia, Chama Cha Mapinduzi from Tanzania, PPRD from DRC, BDP in Botswana and other parties from outside the continent that is People’s Republic of China , Republic of Cuba and Republic of Iran will grace the celebrations,” Chipanga added.

The 21st February Movement is held in honor of President Mugabe’s birthday with the main thrust being Youth Empowerment  and his unwavering support to youths projects
