Another Life Lost To Human-Wildlife Conflicts

Human-wildlife conflict claimed the life of a 35-year-old man from Binga who was killed by an elephant on Wednesday night.

Posting on his Twitter account, ZimParks spokesperson Tinashe Farawo confirmed the incident.

“It is with great sadness that a 35-year-old man was killed by an elephant in Binga this morning,” said Farawo.

He added that the man was attacked while coming from work with the country losing three people to human-wildlife conflict this week only.

“Zimbabwe this week alone 3 people have been killed by elephants in separate incidents,” said Tinashe Farawo

In the first half of 2022, Zimbabwe lost more than 40 lives to human-wildlife conflicts.
