Two men appeared before Harare magistrate court today facing charges of breaking privately owned property.
Takudzwa Mutukwa, 21 and Donald Pikanegore,23 who both reside in Kambuzuma were dragged to court by Sydney Mazongoro after they maliciously threw empty bottles at an unmanned bar at LongCheng Plaza Shopping Mall.
The court heard that the accused persons threw empty bottles succumbing to the damaging of a screen door at a bar which Mazongoro is in charge of.
The accused persons pleaded guilty.
The court heard that the damaged property is worth $200.
Upon mitigation, the two pleaded that they were drunk and it was their first time to have been involved in such an unlawful activity.
Second accused, Pikanegore asked for mercy claiming that he is the one who looks after his mother.
Harare magistrate Madzingire slapped the two with 20 days community service. He also urged the accused persons to meet the cost of renovating the damaged property.
