Comedy in Zimbabwe has been on a steady rise in past few years and it appears there is no going back judging by the number of rising comedians clamoring for space and opportunity to showcase their talent.

Last week, Jazz 24/7 hosted the first edition of Laugh Out Harare Stand-up Comedy show hosted by Doc Vikela.  The second edition of the show saw a bloated number of comedians including Gonyeti and Maggie from BUSTOP TV, fast rising comedian Tinaye, King Kandoro and many other comedians.

Gonyeti who is slowly becoming a seasoned comedian kicked off the show in style mocking former Third Generation band member Baba Harare who unfortunately had left the venue before turning to her regular joke she does not date poor man whom she refers to as her brothers.

The host Doc Vikela gave the comedy fans an over dose of jokes while many others some facing the public for the first did not disappoint.

Entertainment Manager, Yasin Dhala said the platform is for all comedians to show case their talent.

“We saw that comedy fans don’t have a place where they will visit and have time to enjoy, this is the reason why we created this platform,” said Dhala.
