Memorial Service For Late Butler Masango Held

A memorial service for the late Butler Masango (48), a former Caps United and Warriors attacking midfielder was held last night in South Africa courtesy of Zororo-Phumulani powered by Doves Zimbabwe

Masango died at Hellen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg South Africa due to heart failure and lung capacity issues.

His body will be repatriated to Zimbabwe by Zororo-Phumulani today with burial set for Mupandanyama village in Chiweshe.

At the time of his death, Masango who was affectionately known to his legion of fans as “Coach” was running a soccer academy in Johannesburg South Africa for over 15 years.

Speaking during the service, Acting Managing Director of Zororo-Phumulani, Roberta Mutimbiri said the soccer family has been robbed of one of the most intelligent brains in football.

“We are saddened by the passing on of Butler, as a company we saw it fit to honor him by organizing this memorial church service for him,” said Mutimbiri

Zororo-Phumulani and Doves Zimbabwe have close ties with yesteryear soccer legends. Last year in December, the two companies honored the legendary George Shaya with the Life Time Archivers Award at the Zim Archivers Awards Ceremony that was hosted in South Africa.
