PSL: Its Show Time- Let the games begin

The 2016 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) season kicks off today at White City stadium when How Mine clash with debutants Bulawayo City in the first Bulawayo derby.

Now under the tutelage of former Highlanders and Triangle coach, Kelvin Kaindu, How Mine will be hoping to put a good performance in their quest to win the league however, Bulawayo City stand in their way in the league’s opener.

Interestingly Philani “Beefy” Ncube now at Bulawayo City was in charge of How Mine a few seasons ago.

The weekend’s main match is on tomorrow when defending league champions Chicken Inn play host to former champions Dynamos at Barbourfields Stadium.

The Gamecocks as Chicken Inn are known will put aside their embarrassing exit from the Champions League after losing 3-1 on aggregate to South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns last month.

On the other hand Dynamos, whose record breaking four championship winning was cut short by Chicken Inn, are now under the mentorship of Portuguese Jorge Silva in their quest to reclaim the league.

Saul Chaminuka’s Boarder Strikers will make the long trip to Nyamhunga Stadium for a date with Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba and what makes it interesting is that Chaminuka was head coach in 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Tsholotsho who survived relegation on the last day will travel to Mandava Stadium for a date with Norman Mapeza’s FC Platinum.

It will be a battle of debutants when Mutare Rovers play host to Ngezi Platinum at a venue yet to be advised.

On Sunday Caps United who on paper are strong title contenders will host Chapungu at the National Sports Stadium.

Hwange will host Highlanders at the Colliery and the latter have engaged Dutchman Erol Akbay. Harare City will make the long trip to Chiredzi when they play Triangle at Gibbo Stadium.

Tomorrow: How Mine v Bulawayo City (White City) will be live on SS9
