MDC MP Heightens Call For Dialogue

Harare West MP Joanah Mamombe Interfacing with the constituency

Member of parliament for Harare West, Joana Mamombe has piled pressure on President Emmerson Mnangagwa and opposition MDC leader Nelson Chamisa to find each other if the country is to entertain any hopes of economic revival.

Briefing the media soon after her “Meet the Constituency tour” in Greencroft today, Mamombe said Zimbabwe will not move forward until there is dialogue between the two warring parties.

“He ([Mnangagwa) must do the onus of talking to Nelson Chamisa because he knows clearly that Chamisa was voted by the majority of this country and I feel that this is something that Emmerson Mnangagwa is supposed to do.

“No country will move forward until there is a dialogue, until there are negotiations.

“President Mnangagwa and Chamisa need to have an understanding on how the country should make head ways,” she said.

Addressing a press conference at his party headquarters on Wednesday, Chamisa spoke on the need for a National Transitional Authority to rescue the collapsing economy.

But President Mnangagwa fired back, telling his party’s Central Committee meeting that Zanu PF had no plans of joining hands with the opposition.

“We have no agenda, nothing is on our agenda about Government of National Unity. Hatina agenda iyoyo. Mr Chamisa has of late been pushing for what he terms “a transitional Government,” said Mnangagwa.
