Bindura residents had a rare weekend treat thanks to Econet Wireless’ Kwese Iflix One Million Promotion concert which brought seasoned artists, ExQ and Zimdancehall chanter Freeman on the same stage.
The concert brought life to the usually sleepy mine town of Bindura as both legal and illegal gold miners, ordinary people were treated to an assorted menu of Urban Grooves, Hip-hop and Zimdancehall genres.
Freeman who was performing before his own home crowd was the first to go on stage, backed by his four-men band and backing vocalist, Daruler.
The HKD boss did not waste time as he belted hits from Joina City era, when he made his breakthrough, spilling into his recent works that include Gagaga, Wekwedu and Big Life to mention a few.
The most intriguing part of his performance was his ability to accommodate his audience on stage through calling any willing persons from the auditorium to help him perform collaborated songs.
When he performed Gagaga a song that originally featured Crystal, Ndinomira Semukono with Shinsoman and Handikurove – Daruler, he randomly picked people from the audience to sing the other role, something which kept crowds in attendance on their toes and fascinated.
Afterwards, Military Touch Movement (MTM) crooner, ExQ followed suit beginning his performance with the never aging Maidei which got crowds into a dancing frenzy.
His performance was marred by sound hiccups which sucked the energy out of his act but he remained calm and collected.
Surprise act Nutty O wrapped up proceedings to end the day.
