ED Headlines ZAS Agri-Business Conference

President Emmerson Mnangagwa will tomorrow headline a high profile list of discussants at the ongoing Harare Agricultural Show’s 6th Annual National Agribusiness Conference set to be officially opened by vice president Constantino Chiwenga.

Addressing the media at the Harare Agricultural Show which kicked off yesterday, Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) Chief Executive Officer, Dr Anxious Masuka said they are looking forward to Mnangagwa’s presence in one of his first business interaction since his inauguration on Sunday.

“For the coming days, just to highlight that tomorrow we have the sixth national annual agri-business conference which will be officially opened by vice president Chiwenga and we have about four hundred delegates.

“The President of the republic his excellency ED Mnangagwa will be one of the discussants so it will be his first business interaction since his inauguration so it is something what we really looking forward to,” he said.

Dr Masuka confirmed that this year’s show has the biggest attendance as compared to the past years.

“We exceedingly are pleased by the attendance by the exhibitors,l think we are now going to witness perhaps the biggest attendance that this Harare show has ever seen to an extent that we are humbled by this show of confidence for the Harare Agricultural Show as a platform for opportunities for exhibitors and show goers alike.

“I would also like to highlight that we have also record support from sponsors and our supporters so the show is really over subscribed.

“On Thursday we have what we  call the mining agriculture business interface and Vice President Mohadi has kindly agreed to be the guest of honor to be a discussant and as you know with the growth in the mining industry there are lots of conflicts between largely artisanal activities so we are bringing stakeholders from agriculture and mining together to try and discuss together and find a mutual beneficial way forward,” said Masuka.

President Mnangagwa will also be the guest of honor at the official opening of the 108th edition of Harare Agricultural Show on Friday this week.

“On Friday our guest of honor has now been confirmed,his excellency ED Mnangagwa will be the guest of honor for the 108th edition of Harare Agricultural Show and we look forward to his interruption with the show goers, exhibitors, sponsors and many farmers .
