I Am Being Haunted For Leading Opposition MPs Against ED:Tabitha Khumalo
The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Chairperson Thabitha Khumalo is living in fear following deaths threats sent on her mobile phone by a contact she said is from the Parliament communications.
263Chat is in possession of the text sent to Khumalo with a thread embedded showing that the message originated from the August House communication department.
“Zita rangu ndinonzi ‘Death’. Mafreedoms nemarights amunoda kukoshesa aya be careful kuti security in numbers haiwanzobatsira kana wawega. We are gunning for you,” reads the message.
The Bulawayo senator told 263Chat that she is being targeted for leading opposition legislators to remain resolute in their refusal to recognize President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the legitimate leader of the country.
“I think it is because I am leading the MPs not to recognize ED in parliament,” she said.
Khumalo’s death threats follows the expulsion of the legislators from the August House last week by the speaker advocate Jacob Mudenda after they refused to stand up as courtesy when Mnangagwa entered parliament during the 2019 national budget presentation.
