Liquid Telecom Appoints Ahmad Mokhles As Group Chief Operations Officer

Pan African telecoms group Liquid Telecom has appointed Ahmad Mokhles as the operator’s Group Chief Executive Officer with effect from 18 July 2018. His post is a new position created in the Liquid Telecom Group in which he is expected to spearhead group operations and achieve new economies of scale.

Ahmad Mokhles’s portfolio includes overseeing the group’s operations in over 13 countries where he is expected to create value for its shareholders and optimize operational costs in Liquid Telecom’s projects.

Ahmad’s appointment comes after the Liquid Telecom Group has just named Reeshad Sha as the new Chief Executive Officer for Liquid Telecom South Africa in May this year.

“Ahmad is uniquely qualified to oversee the group’s operations as we expand further across Africa. He brings exceptional experience to the role and will help guide the company through our next phase of growth and innovation,” said Nic Rudnick, the Group CEO of Liquid Telecom.

Ahmad brings over 20 years of Information Communication Technology experience to the role, having worked for some ofMiddle East and Africa’s largest telecoms groups, including Orascom, Etisalat, Ooredoo and Airtel Africa.

“I am pleased to be joining Liquid Telecom during such an exciting period of growth for the group. I look forward to working with the rest of the management team to enhance our operating structures and increase efficiency,” said Ahmad Mokhles.

Prior to joining Liquid Telecom, Ahmad served as Chief Operating Officer for Airtel Nigeria. Before that, he served as Executive Vice President of Consumer and Digital Business for Du, overseeing the company’s Smart City business, -ance Officer for Asiacell Iraq which is part of Ooredoo Group.
