The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) has released players of the month list for the April-June period with the Bulawayo based Highlanders dominating the charts .

Highlanders striker and the League’s top goal scorer with 7 goals, Bruce Kangwa won the player of the month for 3 consecutive months.

He shared the player of the month accolade with FC Platinum’s Aubrey Chirwa in the month of April.

Kangwa who has been in scintillating form and his performances have attracted interests from Tanzanian clubs.

The 28 year old striker has been the driving force behind Bosso’s fine run in the league as the club sit comfortably on top as the league heads into its second half.

Kangwa will be headed for trials in Tanzania during the winter break.

Bruce Kangwa has his coach, Errol Akbay to thank for the fine form as the Dutchman has transformed the striker into a fine player. The Bosso coach was rewarded for his efforts in April as he was named the coach of the month. He has taken Bosso to the summit of the log and will be hopping to be in the same position come the end of the season.

Norman “mushini wemajuzi” Mapeza  has also been excelling as evidenced by clinching the  May coach of the month award after taking his team, FC Platinum on a fine run in the league. Although they have been dropping points unnecessarily, the Platinum miners’ coach had a good month in May losing just one game.

For the month of June, Dynamos’ coach Lloyd walked away with the coach of the month award after leading  his team on a 5 game winning streak.

Mutasa took over from controversial Portuguese coach, Jorge Paulo Silva who was sacked after a string of poor results which had left dynamos reeling in the relegation zone.

When Mutasa took over, many were skeptical about his ability to lead a bigger team like dynamos but ever since he has taken over, the Chazunguza camp has been smiling again as they sit third on the log having amassed 25points from 15 games.

The Glamour Boys’ coach will be hoping to continue with the purple patch that the team is currently enjoying and would definitely be going for the title.

The second half of the Castle Lager premier soccer league promises to be a scintillating if the top teams maintain their form.

It remains to be seen which team will have the hunger to go all the way and be crowned champions of Zimbabwean football.
