A female teacher at Herentials college primary in Mabvuku was brought before the court on Wednesday after she touched and subsequently took pictures of private parts of a Grade One female pupil.
The pupil who is seven years old is said to have have been assaulted by three of her friends, who inserted a pencil into her private parts.
The court heard that the incident which happened early this year led to the pupil reporting the matter to her grandmother who took the matter to the school headmaster.
The school head ordered an investigation into the matter by deploying two female teachers to the pupil’s home to find out if there was damage caused by the pencil.
The two interviewed the pupil after ordering her grandmother to leave the room.
Norah Mudangwe , 34, reportedly asked the pupil to remove her pant and allegedly started touching her private parts. she then took pictures of the minor’s private parts
The accused informed the grandmother that the complainant was never assaulted.
The pupil later disclosed what had happened to her grandmother, leading to the arrest of Mudangwe.
Harare Magistrate Bianca Makwande, however, postponed the matter to 9 November 2016, after giving the accused a bail of $30.
