Harare magistrate, Vakai Chikwekwe has freed the leader of #ThisFlag campaign, Evan Mawarire, who was facing charges of inciting violence.
In ruling, Chikwekwe said the state’s attempts to put Evan on remand were not properly brought before the court. This prompted Chikwekwe to acquit all the charges which were being laid against the cleric.
The ruling comes after a day of hyper activity at Harare magistrate’s court in which citizens, human rights activists and lawyers convened to show support for Evan.
