The cat and mouse game between Members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police and a Kombi driver end ended  up in court after a road signal offence by the accused, William Panda.

Panda, 43 who resides in Nyamande village, Domboshava was dragged to Harare magistrate court today facing reckless driving charges.

According to state papers, the accused was signalled to slow down by a police officer but he however  failed to comply with the instruction and encroached in the lane of oncoming traffic lane.

The papers also state that the accused continued driving on the wrong side of the road and went on to proceed against red traffic light.

The court heard that on 12 April 2016 at around 07:50am, the accused failed to keep traffic lanes at an intersection as he attempted to maneuver a police pursuit vehicle.

The court also heard that the accused intentionally and unlawfully operate  a public service vehicle without going through a retest exercise, risking the lives of passengers.

Panda denied charges which were being upon him saying that he did not violet any road rules but he was just trying to run away from the police.

However, in her ruling Harare magistrate Nomsa Sabaruta  remanded Panda out of custody until 4 May.
