Three men who allegedly killed a thief in Southlea Park, Harare, were today brought before Harare magistrate Barbra Mateko to answer to charges of murder.
The trio, Bruce Hodza, Paul Zima and Anesu Chivhima were remanded in custody and advised to approach the High court for bail considerations.
Prosecuting, Sebastian Mutizirwa told the court that the three accused persons connived to beat up the now deceased until he was unconscious.
Upon realizing that the complaint was unconscious, the accused persons went to Southlea Park police station to report the matter.
Police officers from Southlea Park then advised them to take the deceased to hospital where he was declared dead after being taken to emergency treatment room.
Meanwhile, another Harare man stood before magistrate Mateko today answering to charges of attempted murder after he tried to set ablaze his former friend’s house while the former friend was asleep.
It is said that Metland Madiye poured petrol on his friend’s house and set it on fire after their relationship went sour.
Both matters were separately rolled over to 7 August 2019 for a routine remand.
