Friends Of The Warriors Usher Zimbabwe Into AFCON Mood

The Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Club commonly known as The Friends of The Warriors, will tomorrow launch two jingles in support of the Zimbabwe national soccer team as the Warriors ready to do battle against the Pharaohs of Egypt in a game that will presume the start of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals next week.

The gig will be in conjunction with Eastpoint Club, formerly Jazz 105, who will also officially launch their place as the home of football where they will screen all the matches live.

The Friends of Warriors have been all weather friends of the Warriors often accompanying them to most of their local and foreign assignments and they are hoping to send their members to rally behind their team as they attempt the herculean task of upsetting the much fancied Mohammed Salah-led Pharaohs of Egypt.

As the 12th man , the Friends know how much their support is needed to inspire the team. Therefore the gig on Saturday the 15th June serves as an appetizer to the tournament.

Hopes are high among the fans that this time around the Warriors will surpass their previous performances and surpass the group stages.

The Friends of the Warriors are therefore inviting all football loving fans to come and join in the celebrations where Warriors replicas and regalia will be on sale.

Entertainment will be provided by Warriors cheer members and top DJs as well as one musician who will also launch his album dedicated to the team.

At the Chan tournament in Capetown 2014 , where the Warriors finished a commendable 4th place, the Zimbabwe Supporters were ranked the second best cheering fan,  loosing to Burkina Faso supporters.

The Friends of Warriors also expressed gratitude to the government for its timely intervention towards the welfare of the Warriors as this has served as a motivation to the players.
