A Harare man has appeared at the Harare Magistrates court today charged with murder after he allegedly killed his biological father and reported the matter as a suicide case.
Allegations are that on 2 February 2019, Ngonidzashe Albert Chiwa (22) went to police to report that he had seen a dead person.
Police arrested the accused person after discovering that the deceased was Chiwa’s father.
Police also discovered some blue substances in a bottle where his father, the deceased was lying.
The court heard that after the post-mortem was conducted, the forensic results proved that the deceased’s death was due to some mechanical cause, leading to the arrest of Chiwa.
Prosecuting, Sebastian Mutizirwa opposed to the accused person being given bail saying he is facing a third schedule offence.
Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa then rolled over the matter to 25 February 2019.
