Winky D’s soundalike, Spuky B has said he is unmoved by critics over his imitation of the Zimdancehall maestro.
Born Keith Antonio, Spuky B has been making waves on social media with the release of his song Summer Yauya where he imitates the Ninja President’s vocals, something music lovers believe is not good for his brand as an upcoming musician.
But speaking to this publication, the soon to be 19-year-old was unmoved by the criticism pointing out that he is young and still trying to find his identity.
“I’m only 18 and yet to turn 19 this December so this is me trying to find myself. Initially, when I started I sounded exactly like Winky D but as I continue producing more music I can hear that I’m drifting. It is only a matter of time before I identify myself,” he said.
He added that he is yet to meet the Disappear hitmaker.
“I’m a big Winky D fan and my dream is to meet him face up someday,” he added.
This comes at a time when social media is awash with petitions for the Finhu Finhu singer to release an album before year end.
Summer Yauya was produced by Winky D’s most trusted producer, Oskid and will be accompanied by its visuals on a date to be advised.
