ED Sends Condolence Message To MDC Party

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent condolence messages to the MDC Party following the death of two activists who died in an accident in Kwekwe last night.

The accident also injured Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java who is the Glenview South Member of Parliament and daughter to former Primer Morgan Tsvangirai.

Vimbai is currently admitted at a hospital in Harare.

Posting on his Twitter page this morning, Mnangagwa said his “thoughts” are with the deceased and sent consoling message to the Tsvangirai family.

“Very sorry to hear of the tragic car crash that claimed the lives of two committed MDC activists and injured Vimbai Tsvangirai. My thoughts are with the loved ones of the deceased, and I join the Tsvangirai family and the nation as a whole in praying for Vimbai’s speedy recovery,” he said.

According to an MDC party official, the vehicle in which Tsvangirai was travelling had four occupants.

It was involved in a head-on collision just after Kwekwe towards Harare, as they returned from Bulawayo where the party hosted the latest round of debates between candidates vying for leadership positions at the MDC’s congress later this month.
