The Battle of Zimbabwe: Dynamos face Highlanders

Could this be the year where losing league records are broken? Highlanders will be hoping to end a ten year jinx in which they have failed to beat Dembare in a league match when the two giants of Zimbabwean football lock horns at the giant National Sports Stadium on Saturday.

For Bosso the match comes at a time they badly need maximum points in order to keep up pace with log leaders FC Platinum while Dembare will need to maintain their dominance and also move from the bottom half of the table.

Matches of this magnitude are no pushovers for either teams as they try to outwit each other but  will the Bulawayo giants take cue from Caps United who broke a 7 year losing streak when they edged Dynamos 1-0 at Rufaro?

Dynamos were then under the tutelage of Portuguese mentor Paulo Jorge Silva who was sacked after a string of poor results and was replaced by interim coach Lloyd “Samaita” Mutasa.

A victory over Dembare will be a big boost for Bosso who are under the guidance of Dutchman Erol Akbay and they have of late been playing some exciting brand of football.

The match will complete match day eight matches that began on Wednesday before the leagues takes a break in order to pave way for the National team which is preparing for a crunch AFCON qualifier against Malawi at Rufaro as well as the COSAFA Cup.
