Speaking to 263chat, the annual show society general manager Mr. Brian Vengayi said they are geared for the show which will run under the theme “investment, innovation for economic growth”. The show  will run from the 11th to the 14th of August.

Vengayi bemoaned lack of cooperation from  companies towards this year’s show.

“At the moment things are moving on smoothly but companies are not responding well. We hope by the time the show begins, everything will be in place,” said Vengayi while adding that the show society is expecting an increased number as compared to  previous editions.

“ We had more than 15 000 exhibitors last year and over 120 companies and as of now we have about 50 companies that have confirmed their participation and these include small to medium enterprises,”

He further said preparations have been hampered by lack of financial resources as they are owed $20 000 by creditors who have participated in previous editions. He has however pinned his hopes on the companies to pay their dues.

Vengayi promised fireworks at this years’ show as for the first time in the history of the annual show, there will be more than one performing artist with Freeman, Judgment Yard Family and a local artist, Preacherman performing on the main day, Saturday, while several upcoming artists have been lined up for the show.
