An Epworth man hauled his girlfriend before Mbare Magistrates court accusing her of stealing $14 000.
Flint Sibanda, who resides at number 7 Nyamutsiru road Msasa Park, Harare stood before court yesterday together with her friend, Sithokozile Mdlongwa facing theft charges.
Sibanda is said to be the small house of Benjamini Furamera, who was conned $14 000.
The court heard that on the 26th of May 2016 at around 1600 hours, the complainant visited Sibanda at her place of residence, where he was later conned.
The complainant told the court that Sibanda knew that he had money in his car.
The court heard that Sibanda connived with her friend to steal the money. While Sibanda and Furamera were having quality time, Mdlongwa then took the money from the car.
The court also heard that investigations carried by the police unearthed conversations on how they would use the money.
The accused persons denied allegations laid upon them saying the case was orchestrated to tarnish their image.
Public Prosecutor Tafara Chirambira advised Mbare Magistrate Stanford Mambanje to postpone the case to Friday 29 July 2016 for more state witness to testify before the court.
