A massive musical celebration is set to take place this Saturday at ZAOGA Braeside Church in Harare. Fifty local and international gospel artists will come together to honor the life and legacy of the late Archbishop Ezekiel Guti. The event is part of the nationwide Ezekiel Guti Day commemorations, marking the first anniversary of his passing.
Organized by ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries International (FIFMI), the day will kick off with a walkathon in Grange, followed by a vibrant concert beginning at 12 noon. The event is expected to draw large crowds and will serve as a powerful tribute to the revered spiritual leader and philanthropist.
Archbishop Ezekiel Guti passed away on May 5, 2023, in South Africa at 100. His remarkable legacy earned him national hero status from President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and his influence continues to be felt across Zimbabwe and beyond.
One of the highlights of the concert will be a performance by Worship House, a popular South African gospel group led by Misheck Mahendere. Originating from the Venda-speaking community in Limpopo Province, the group is celebrated for its high-energy, multicultural worship performances that inspire audiences across southern Africa.
As part of Ezekiel Guti’s enduring vision of education and empowerment, ZAOGA Forward in Faith has partnered with Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The collaboration has led to donations of computers and training for staff at several ZAOGA-run schools.
One notable institution, the Ezekiel Guti Junior Legacy School in Shamva, serves children with disabilities and integrates specialist teachers and computer education into its curriculum—showcasing the ministry’s commitment to inclusive learning.
The church continues to expand Guti’s legacy through a wide array of institutions, including Bible colleges, the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU), and Mbuya Dorcas Hospital, which offers both general medical services and postgraduate nursing education.
ZAOGA also promotes entrepreneurship through its “matarenda” initiative, which encourages penny-capitalism and self-reliance among its members—further solidifying its impact on community development.
Active in over 174 countries, ZAOGA FIFMI remains a powerful force in global ministry and humanitarian outreach. The Ezekiel Guti Day celebrations serve as a testament to a life dedicated to faith, education, health, and empowerment—principles that continue to shape lives worldwide.
