Tedius Matsito’s Son Emerges

The King of Sungura, Alick Macheso on Sunday hosted a family show at Extra Mile in Harare becoming the first musician to have his own family being part of the event that also saw Tedius Muchapedza Matsito’s son shining on his grand entry onto the showbiz arena.

Introducing the Matsito’s son, Muchapedzei on stage, Macheso said he is a father who has a duty to shape the road of his sons.

“I am a father and as a father, it is our duty to shape the road of our children and today I am introducing the elderly son of Tedius Matsito,” said Macheso to thunderous applause from the fans who braced the wet weather to attend the show.

Before introducing the youngster, he gave him some lessons on how to succeed in the music industry.

“I advise you to treat your fans well because these are our bosses who make us have salaries and we need to give them our best ‘Kumhanya hakusi kusvika’

After his introduction, Muchapedzei performed two of his father’s songs in the process heightening the tempo of the family show.

In an interview with 263Chat, Muchapedzei said he is carrying on from his father who recently stroked again.

“My father is ill these days, he recently stroked again and is battling for his life, but we are praying that he recovers. We are working so that his legacy does not die. I am being groomed by a lot of people are grooming me well as well as other big artists like Aleck Macheso,” said the 16-year-old Muchapedzei.

The upcoming musician is currently out of school, but said he is planning to sit for Ordinary level examinations in June.

“I am doing my Ordinary level education at home, I have my personal teacher, my intention is to sit for my ordinary level exams in June this year,” added Muchapedzei.

In their family of eight, Muchapedzei is proud that her two sisters are also into music though they are not following in their father’s footsteps- sungura.

Macheso did no end by introducing the young Matsito, he later called his own sons, Esau and Tatenda though the two proved that they still have a long way to go before they master stage performance.

The family show coincided with the birthday of Mundikumbuke hitmaker’s wife, Nyaradzai who turned 43 on Saturday.

Nyaradzai appeared on stage to meet with her husband’s fans, who reciprocated by singing a happy birthday song for her in one of the family show’s major highlights.
