SECURICO Security recently marked a momentous occasion at its annual staff awards ceremony and family fun day, celebrating over 25 years of excellence in the security industry.
The event combined both the recognition of long-serving employees and a day of family-oriented activities, making it a truly memorable celebration for all.
In a heartfelt announcement, Managing Director and Founder, Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula, revealed that all staff members who have served the company for 20 years or more will now be eligible for housing loans.
This significant initiative is aimed at honouring their unwavering loyalty and dedication to SECURICO’s success.
A total of 241 outstanding employees were recognised for their long-standing service, with awards presented in the 10, 15, 20, and 25-year categories.
These awards highlight the dedication and commitment of SECURICO’s staff, many of whom have devoted decades to ensuring the company’s growth and success.
Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula, visibly emotional, paid tribute to the long-serving staff, particularly the women who stood by the company during some of Zimbabwe’s most challenging times.
She recalled the 2008 economic crisis, when many employees left the country due to hyperinflation and uncertainty. It was the unwavering commitment of these women that helped SECURICO navigate those difficult years.
“In 2008, when many left including most of our male staff these women stood by SECURICO. I trained them personally, mentored them, and together we kept the company going,” Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula shared, her voice filled with emotion.
The housing loan announcement was met with applause and joy from the staff, who gathered to celebrate this milestone.
Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula stressed that this initiative was a token of appreciation for their years of sacrifice, resilience, and excellence in service.
The day was not only about recognition but also about fostering a strong sense of community within SECURICO.
The event kicked off with various sporting activities, including netball, volleyball, soccer, and athletics, where staff members competed in friendly teams.
Families were also invited to join in the fun and participate in the festivities. The day ended with the awards ceremony and a celebratory lunch, where the hard work of the staff was acknowledged and celebrated.
Additionally, outstanding performers from 2024 were recognised for their exceptional contributions, and the MD’s Quality and Excellence Awards were presented to Inspectors and Officers who went the extra mile during the first quarter of 2025.
Money prizes and other rewards were also given to those employees who demonstrated excellence in their roles.
This year’s event also featured Mrs. Miriam Zisengwe, Head of SME and Consumer Banking at Nedbank, as the guest speaker.
Mrs. Zisengwe shared inspiring insights into leadership, empowerment, and the importance of recognising the contributions of long-serving employees in fostering sustainable business growth.
The annual SECURICO event, which has been held for over 25 years, not only celebrated the hard work of its staff but also reinforced the company’s belief in the power of community within the workplace.
As part of the company’s broader commitment to excellence, SECURICO unveiled its 2025 theme, #GoodtoGreat, a reflection of its ongoing journey towards greater achievements and leadership in the security industry.
Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula emphasised the importance of leadership in recognising and nurturing the potential of others, quoting Ziad K. Abdelnour: “True Leaders don’t create followers, they create more leaders.”
“By embracing this philosophy, we ensure that every individual has the opportunity to grow, fostering a culture of loyalty and recognition, and ensuring everyone has the chance to develop their leadership potential,”Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula added.
SECURICO remains committed to empowering women and championing inclusive economic development, making the housing loan initiative an integral part of its ongoing efforts to reward and invest in its most dedicated staff.
