The eagerly anticipated Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between Highlanders FC and Dynamos FC, which was scheduled to be played on Saturday 15 April 2023, has been postponed.
In a statement, PSL communications and liaison manager Kudzai Bare said the decision to postpone the match came after a directive from the Sports and Recreation Commission.
“Please be advised that the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between Highlanders FC and Dynamos FC scheduled to be played on Saturday 15 April 2023 has been postponed. This comes following a directive from the Sports and Recreation Commission for the two teams to participate in the Independence Day activities which will commence on the 16th of April 2023.The postponed fixture will be rescheduled in due course,” said Bare
The two football giants have had a bright start to the season sitting third and fourth respectively on the 18-team log standing having collected 8 points apiece in the first four games they have both played.
The Premier Soccer League has seen match attendances increasing this season with Highlanders leading the way in the number of spectators coming for their matches and the postponed match would have been a barometer to gauge the league’s popularity.
