Woman convicted for kidnaping a 10 day old baby

A 23 year old woman was on Saturday convicted for kidnapping and unlawful detention of a 10 day old baby as defined in section 93(1) b(11) of the criminal law codification and reform act.

Neita Mun’ozho, who resides in Tafara , was allegedly dragged to court after she was caught in possession of an infant whom she had kidnapped at Tafara Healthy Service Clinic.

The court heard that the accused person met Priscilla Musademba, (the mother of the complainant), on the 21st of July 2016, who was at the clinic with her child for check-up.

The accused is said to have asked to hold the baby for a while before vanishing .

According to state papers  Musademba then proceeded to the toilet, leaving the 10 year old baby with the accused person who later vanished with the baby.

However, Mun’ozho did not waste the court’s time and did not deny the charges which were being laid upon her.
