POSB and Zimnat Join Forces to Expand Insurance Access Across Zimbabwe

In a strategic move aimed at broadening access to insurance services across the country, the People’s Own Savings Bank (POSB) has entered into a partnership with Zimnat General Insurance to offer a wide range of bancassurance products.

The partnership brings motor vehicle insurance—both third-party and comprehensive coverage into the POSB fold, allowing customers to purchase or renew policies directly through the bank’s extensive network.

As part of the integration, clients can also make payments for ZINARA vehicle licenses and ZBC radio licenses at POSB branches nationwide.

The partnership doesn’t stop at auto insurance.

Customers can now also sign up for a Hospital Cash Plan underwritten by Zimnat.

The plan offers daily cash payouts during hospital stays, helping policyholders manage incidental costs and reduce financial strain during periods of illness or recovery.

“This partnership with Zimnat General Insurance allows us to provide convenient and accessible insurance solutions, ensuring that our customers can manage their financial needs under one roof.
As we celebrate 120 years of service, we remain focused on delivering customer-centric, innovative financial solutions.” said Garainashe Changunda, POSB’s Chief Executive Officer.

Zimnat General Insurance CEO, Betty Chiware–Togarasei, echoed the optimism.

“Zimnat is excited to collaborate with POSB, a resilient bank with reach into even the most remote parts of the country. This partnership supports our mission to empower prosperity through dependable, innovative insurance products,” said Togarasei

With additional services already in the pipeline, both companies say the collaboration is set to evolve into a one-stop shop for customers seeking holistic financial and insurance solutions.

The move comes as POSB continues to modernize its services and expand offerings beyond traditional banking, cementing its role as a key player in financial inclusion efforts throughout the country.
