A Zimbabwe Manpower Development and Empowerment Fund (ZIMDEF) debt manager, Leonard Rwambiwa has been dragged to court on a shameful charge of indecent assault.
Rwambiwa appeared before magistrate Yeukai Chigodora facing allegations of grabbing a female co-worker’s right butt without her consent.
Allegations are that Rwambiwa, at the ZIMDEF offices in Harare on 9 July 2019 ordered the complainant, (name held) to prepare tea for him.
The complainant did as per the instructions and and brought the tea to the accused’s office. It was then alleged that when the complainant was leaving the office, Rwambiwa then approached from the back and grabbed her butt.
Fearing the bosses, the complainant then kept quiet and later told other workmates who confronted the accused person.
The complainant later reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Rwambiwa.
Magistrate Chigodora granted Rwambiwa free bail and rolled over the matter to 24 July 2019.
